Rooms are available in single, double and twin configurations, with cosy double and superior room upgrades available for those who’d like a little extra comfort. Every room comes with tea and coffee making facilities, a hair dryer and a Freeview TV with radio channels, and ironing facilities are available from reception.

Dining at the Waverley Castle Hotel is a highlight in itself, where each morning begins with a freshly cooked full Scottish breakfast served straight to your table. Things to Do in Melrose

Just a short walk from the Waverley Castle Hotel, the historic heart of Melrose has an array of attractions to explore. The town’s crown jewell is Melrose Abbey – a spectacular 12th century, medieval ruin, known famously as the final resting place of Robert the Bruce’s heart. Just a stone’s throw away, the Trimontium Museum lets you peer into the past, with an immersive look back at the Roman conquest of Scotland, while the nearby Abbotsford House provides a taste of the 19th century as you wander through the personal library and spectacular estate of novelist Sir Walter Scott. 

 

If you prefer a more relaxed afternoon, Melrose boasts some beautiful green spaces, perfect for a leisurely stroll to take in the scenery. The National Trust for Scotland looks after two stunning properties here, the Harmony Garden and the Priorwood Garden, with beautiful floral displays and orchard trees.
