Scarborough Twixmas

Resort - Scarborough Festive Tours

Overview

Scarborough is arguably the oldest seaside resort in Britain - sea bathing was being promoted here in 1660, more than a century before it became fashionable elsewhere. But Scarborough has an even older history with an impressive medieval castle and even the remains of a Roman signal station. The busy harbour is haven to a welter of fishing vessels and there are the usual seaside pursuits a-plenty on the adjacent South Bay promenade which leads to the Spa. The steep hill sides are beautifully landscaped and there are many attractive parks and gardens. The resort is noted for its theatres and there is an art gallery and several small museums.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Outward Travel - Twixmas

  • Travel to your chosen Alfa Hotel and enjoy a fun-filled Christmas break! Your Twixmas Break includes 3 nights dinner, bed and breakfast, a festive drink on arrival, and fantastic evening entertainment. On the final night of your stay, there will also be an optional fancy dress party.

Day 2 - Excursion to Whitby

  • Enjoy a trip along the beautiful Yorkshire Coast to reach wonderful Whitby. Set aside the Esk Estuary and where the North York Moors meet the sea, Whitby oozes charm and character. Step back in time in the Old Town, perhaps climb the 199 steps to the abbey or why not enjoy some of the best fish and chips in the world at the Magpie Café?

Day 3 - Bridlington & Beverley

  • We make our way along the coast to visit Bridlington. The Old Town here dates back to the 12th century and the picturesque streets are still a delight to explore. We continue on to historic Beverley. The beautiful Minster towers over the town and the pretty market squares are flanked by beautiful Georgian houses.

Reliable Coaches

Most of our holidays are operated by our own fleet of mostly modern Mercedes luxury coaches, all of which have an on board washroom and are air conditioned. We also work with selected third party coach operators who supplement our own fleet during peak periods. The facilities on third party coaches can vary, but the majority have air conditioning. We are members of the Confederation of Passenger Transport and the Coach Tourism Association – bodies established to encourage standards of excellence in our industry.
