The 800-year-old Norman castle overlooks the ancient streets of Kilkenny which today has been transformed into a cosmopolitan destination. Our tour also visits the ‘Garden of Ireland’ as County Wicklow is known, as well as enjoying a guided tour of Ireland’s cosmopolitan capital, Dublin.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Outward Travel – to Overnight stay in Dublin Area

We depart and make our way to Holyhead for our sailing to Dublin. On arrival we make our way to our overnight stay in the Dublin Area.

Day 2 - Dublin to Ballykelly, via Belfast

We depart Dublin and make our way to Belfast, Northern Ireland’s capital city. A modern, vibrant city with a glorious and troubled past, Belfast has reinvented itself and there is plenty to explore. The City Hall dominates the central square surrounded by avenues of shops and lively bars and cafes in which to relax. Why not enjoy a pint of the ‘black stuff’ in the Crown Liquor Saloon Pub, the city’s most famous pub with a remarkable and ornate interior, cosy snugs and stunning mosaic floor. Later in the day we leave Belfast behind and make our way to the Drummond Hotel where we stay for four nights.

Day 3 - Giant’s Causeway & Bushmills Distillery

A real highlight today as we make our way along Northern Ireland’s coastline to reach the Giant’s Causeway. A place where legend and nature meet, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is truly unforgettable. Whether you want to learn more about the geological formations dating back 60 million years or the legend of Finn McCool – here you can walk across the famous stones and admire the spectacular seascapes. From the fascinating visitor centre there is a shuttle bus that can take you to the site (payable locally). We continue our day with a visit to the historic Bushmills Distillery. The world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery where we discover the crafts that have been passed down from generation to generation and enjoy a tour and tasting!

Day 4 - Derry-Londonderry

Compact, cosmopolitan and creative, Derry-Londonderry is a city steeped in history. From its medieval city walls and iconic murals to fascinating museums which tell the stories of times gone by. Take a stroll along the famous city walls, enjoy some traditional music in one of the many cosy pubs or perhaps call into the stunning Guildhall, home to John Hume’s Nobel Peace Prize.

Day 5 - Belfast & Titanic Belfast

Today we venture back into the capital with a trip to Belfast for some more time to explore. Also included today is entry to Titanic Belfast. This award-winning museum tells one of the city’s most famous stories, that of the ill-fated Titanic. Learn about the ships’ conception, construction and launch from the city, the preparations for her maiden voyage, subsequent tragedy and the lasting impact on the people of Belfast.

Day 6 - Ballykelly to Dublin Area, via Dublin

We leave Northern Ireland behind and travel to Dublin where there will be a little free time in the Emerald Isle’s capital city. Why not enjoy a stroll along Grafton Street or explore the colourful Temple Bar area! Later in the day we make our way to our overnight hotel on the outskirts of the city.

Day 7 - Return Travel – Dublin to Holyhead – Breakfast on board.

We leave the Emerald Isle behind and sail from Dublin to Holyhead and continue our journey home. Breakfast will be served on board the ferry.

Reliable Coaches

Most of our holidays are operated by our own fleet of mostly modern Mercedes luxury coaches, all of which have an on board washroom and are air conditioned. We also work with selected third party coach operators who supplement our own fleet during peak periods. The facilities on third party coaches can vary, but the majority have air conditioning. We are members of the Confederation of Passenger Transport and the Coach Tourism Association – bodies established to encourage standards of excellence in our industry.
