Bridlington & Ballroom And Sequence Tea Dance

Resort - Bridlington

Overview

The long beach front, historic buildings and range of entertainment facilities make Bridlington a fantastic destination on the Yorkshire Coast. Bridlington Old Town is traditional Yorkshire in a nutshell. Packed with attractive antique shops and restaurants, the Old Town was the setting for the Dad’s Army film. The delightful mix of brick and stone buildings, colourful shop fronts, popular cafés and individual shops provide a relaxing environment for shopping or strolling. Entertainment and art galleries are housed in the refurbished Spa Centre on the seafront. A network of land-trains transports guests around the town, along the front, and as far afield as Sewerby Hall and Gardens, a delightful stately home owned and managed by East Riding Council.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Outward Travel

Day 2 - Pickering, Thornton-le-Dale, & Goathland

  • A scenic trip into the delightful North York Moors. Encompassing some of the most rugged and charming countryside in the UK. This region is wonderfully diverse and provides many areas of interest. Along the way, we visit the picturesque village of Thornton-le-Dale, where independent shops and cosy cafés surround the village green. We then continue to the attractive village of Goathland, famously known as the setting for TV’s Heartbeat, before arriving in the historic market town of Pickering. Rich in heritage, Pickering is home to the impressive Pickering Castle, originally built during the reign of William the Conqueror, and the Church of St Peter and St Paul, celebrated for its stunning medieval frescoes.

Day 3 - Whitby & North York Moors

  • Admire the spectacular scenery of the North York Moors National Park as we make our way to the harbour town of Whitby. Overlooked by the dramatic ruined abbey, Whitby is a firm favourite and there is much to discover in the historic cobbled streets - including some of the best fish and chips in the world!

Day 4 - Day at Leisure – Afternoon Tea Dancing featuring Ballroom & Sequence Dancing at Bridlington Spa

  • Enjoy a relaxed morning at your own pace, then make your way to Bridlington Spa, just across the road from the Monarch Hotel, for an elegant afternoon of sequence dancing, with a touch of ballroom and Latin available on request.. Whether you are with a few friends, part of a group, with your partner or even alone, you will be guaranteed a warm Yorkshire welcome. Friendly faces and an informal atmosphere will ensure you have a wonderful time. The now famous, spectacular Spa scones served with butter and jam, accompanied with tea or coffee are also included. Dancing will commence at 2pm.

Day 5 - Day at Leisure

Day 6 - Scarborough & Filey

  • Scarborough really does have it all – dramatic cliffs, prominent castle headland, historic harbour and wonderful beaches. Perhaps take a ride on the oldest funicular railway in Britain, enjoy a stroll through the gardens or enjoy some seaside fun on the award-winning beaches. We continue our day with a visit to Filey. Home to an historic promenade, impressive Edwardian architecture and a five-mile expanse of stunning beach this is a great place to explore.
