From your pickup point to your hotel doorstep, to each of your excursions, our coach holidays are packed with comfort, convenience, and good times. But behind every journey sits the person in the driver’s seat, delivering you from destination to destination with seamless punctuality and a smile, of course.
Our escapes are designed to offer guests accessible and convenient getaways that put their needs first – neither of which would be possible without the expertise and ‘can do’ attitudes of our friendly drivers. Get to know what a day in the life of a coach driver involves and get to know Alfa Holiday’s drivers a little better with our guide.
The job of a coach driver extends far beyond ensuring you arrive safely at your destination. Your driver is your Alfa representative for the duration of your holiday and is keen to make sure you’re happy and comfortable whilst on board their coach. But let’s get more specific: what does the role of a coach driver involve?
A coach driver’s day begins early in the morning, when they board their coach and carry out routine checks to ensure the journey is all good to go. From there, they’ll head out to pick up their passengers and drop them off at their hotel.
Across the duration of your holiday, your coach driver will be present to collect you and take you to your excursions throughout your destination of choice – always at the ready to make sure you arrive on time.
When it comes to hiring the best coach drivers, it’s important that we employ people with character who are keen to look after their passengers and act as an integral part of our welcoming, homely experience. The best part of our coach drivers’ days is mingling with passengers, so don’t hesitate to ask questions or start conversations. It’s that genuine human touch that makes Alfa Holidays so special.
Coach drivers can drive for a maximum of 9 hours per day, but must take at least a 45 minute break after every 4.5 hours of driving. The safety and comfort of our drivers are extremely important to us, which is why we encourage them to take the necessary breaks. The segmented nature of our trips, with both connecting coaches and excursions, means that drivers are never really driving for extended periods.
Think you’ve got what it takes to become an Alfa Holidays coach driver? We’d love to have you on board, literally! We employ coach drivers across the nation to show tourists the best of their destinations, so here’s what you’ll need to become a driver:
There’s no denying the importance of a good tour guide. Yes, your hotel, entertainment, excursions, and fellow holiday makers have a huge impact on your getaway, but your driver is the glue holding the entire trip together. So, now that you’ve got a better idea of what makes a good coach holiday, consider joining us on the road – be it as a driver or even a passenger!
As we mentioned, Alfa goes the extra mile to make sure guests feel comfortable and well looked after on our trips. Whether you’re looking for coach holidays for singles or are planning weekend coach trips with friends, you’ll feel right at home on our escapes.
