Coach Holidays to Cornwall
Cornwall, famous for its dramatic coastline, spectacular sandy beaches, quaint coastal towns and fishing harbour, is a popular destination with tourists who enjoy coach holidays to Cornwall. A popular county on England’s southwestern tip, it has its own flag and language. It is a thriving, coastal county full of history, myths, legends and folklore. The north coast of Cornwall is lined with towering cliffs and seaside resorts like Newquay.
The south coast referred to as the Cornish Riviera is home to picturesque harbour villages such as Fowey and Falmouth, highly rated for their fresh fish, popular sea school and cream teas. Cornwall is the home to The Lost Gardens of Heligan, one of the most mysterious estates in England. Hidden away beneath the busy brambles since WW1, this grand estate was once again discovered by chance when a door leading to the estate was found by chance in 1990. Today Heligan’s 200 acres has become Europe’s largest garden restoration project and a new paradise for plant lovers, wildlife enthusiasts and explorers.
Things To Do In Cornwall
One of Cornwall’s most visited landmarks is the world-famous Minack Theatre, an open-air amphitheatre perched on the cliffs high above the Atlantic Ocean. Built back in 1932, the theatre is still operating today with live musicals, drama and opera; with over 110,000 spectators watching the magnificent performances each year.
Cornwall is a place where you can immerse yourself into history; on the rugged North Cornwall coast, you will discover Tintagel Castle, recognised as one of the most spectacular historic sites in Britain. Famously linked to the legend King Arthur, this charismatic castle has been a great inspiration for writers, artists and other creatives for many years. For more than 500 years, the path to the castle had been somewhat challenging, with over a hundred steps winding towards the cliff-top ruins. Most recently, an innovative footbridge has been developed and installed at Tintagel Castle to reunite the two separated halves of Tintagel Castle, and now there are more opportunities to immerse yourself in history, myths and stunning scenery at the majestic castle.
